Assiut
Assiut is the largest city in Upper Egypt. It is the capital of Assiut Governorate and hosts the first regional university, and a branch of Al-Azhar with its various scientific and religious faculties. 375 km between it and Cairo on the free Upper Egypt road. It is the beginning of the forty path. It has the highest population density of Copts at the level of the Republic.
